The OxiCer working group, located within the Ceramic Composites department of the CU, plays a central role in the research and development of advanced oxide ceramic fiber composites. These materials are known for their exceptional heat resistance and very good mechanical stability at high temperatures and are widely used in various high-tech industries such as aerospace, the automotive industry, chemical process engineering and power generation. The materials are also already being used very successfully in furnace construction, heat treatment and plant engineering, proving their sustainability.<\/p>\n
The OxiCer working group brings together experts from various disciplines who are active along the entire value chain. Starting with fiber production, where innovative fibers are developed that form the basic building blocks for composite materials. From component manufacturing, where these fibers are processed into complex components, to finishing, which ensures the functionality and service life of the finished products.<\/p>\n
A particular focus is on the characterization of the materials. State-of-the-art processes are used to precisely determine the physical and chemical properties of the composite materials. These findings are crucial for further improving the materials and developing tailor-made solutions for specific applications.<\/p>\n
