International networking, innovative technologies and resilient supply chains were the focus of this year’s KOMPOZYT-EXPO, which took place in Kraków on 7 and 8 October 2026. Composites United (CU) was once again represented with a joint booth and contributed several specialist presentations to the conference programme.

For the fifth time, CU shared its exhibition booth with the Polish Cluster of Composite Technologies (PKTK). This long-standing collaboration once again provided an ideal platform this year for professional exchange, international networking and forging new contacts. Also represented at the joint booth was CU member ExxonMobil Petroleum & Chemical BV (ExxonMobil Proxxima™ Polyolefin Thermoset Resin Systems), which enriched the exhibition presence with its expertise in innovative materials solutions.

The accompanying conference programme focused on current developments in the European composites industry. Key topics included innovative lightweight design technologies, the sector’s competitiveness, resilient supply chains, and applications of fibre-reinforced composites in the defence, dual-use and infrastructure sectors.

CU featured in several presentations on the conference programme

In his presentation, Martin Kretschmann (CU) highlighted the competitiveness of the European composites industry, as well as the importance of technological developments and international collaboration. On the second day of the trade fair, he also chaired the ‘Defence & Dual-Use’ session.

As part of the closing event for the EU ResC4EU project, CU CEO Dr Tjark von Reden (picture below) explained the importance of resilient supply chains for the composites industry. In the subsequent panel discussion, he discussed with international experts how EU projects and industry clusters can strengthen the resilience of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Another expert presentation was given by Marc Fette, CEO of the Composite Technology Centre (CTC) and spokesman for the CU Executive Committee (right). He presented modern fibre-reinforced composite technologies for the aerospace sector and their potential for strategic applications.

Composites United can look back on two successful days at the trade fair, featuring numerous technical discussions and valuable insights. Special thanks go to our long-standing stand partner PKTK, and in particular to Andrzej Czulak and Marta Czulak, for yet another excellent collaboration.
